Recently I was featured in a livestream with a well-known YouTube vlogger, Ghib Ojisan, where I brought him around a mini bazaar to get food for us to breakfast.

Since the annual bazaar in Geylang was closed due to pandemic, we managed to find an alternative which led us to this mini bazaar.

The main objective of the stream was to show his viewers from all around the world, majority from Japan, on what Ramadhan is all about, why do Muslims observe fasting during Ramadhan etc.

The whole experience was truly honoring. Honestly, that was my first time being an on-screen persona in an exceptionally long time (Well I can’t remember when was the last time). It was kind of nerve-wrecking at first, but I got comfortable as I went along.

I manage to introduce Ghib the traditional Malay delicacies and dishes, mostly would refer them as 'pasar-malam' food like the ‘Ramly’ burger, Dendeng, just to name a few.

Sadly, we didn’t manage to try the food during the live stream itself as it wasn’t time to break our fast yet, but we do have another video that’s coming up where you’ll see us trying the food, I’ll share more on that in a bit!

Overall, doing a livestream seems harder than I thought. Everything needs to be spontaneous as you’re in the moment and hundreds of viewers are watching you real-time. It’s obviously a different game when you can actually cut, re-shoot, re-take the scene or even edit during the post.

I was kind of nervous anticipating the responses from the stream. I’m pretty sure that this is normal for first timer like me to feel this way, right?

I’m truly grateful for all the feedbacks and comments that I’ve received from the viewers. I'm looking forward to create more content now!

As I mentioned earlier, this is the video where Ghib Ojisan actually tried to fast and experience Ramadhan for a day with me.
